Company Introduces the WorkWhile Money Card, Delivering Sizable Rewards on Earned Savings

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — At the Money20/20 conference today, WorkWhile, an AI-native labor platform, today formally unveiled Money Match, a flagship financial health initiative designed to protect hourly workers from high-cost debt cycles. As part of WorkWhile’s agentic earnings management tools, Money Match provides a 10% annual reward on workers’ earnings, serving as an effective alternative to short-term predatory loans. By leveraging the WorkWhile platform alongside WorkWhile Money Match, workers build savings and establish lasting financial buffers that safeguard families against predatory loans and unexpected costs.

More than two-thirds of workers choose to pick up extra shifts to cover unexpected expenses instead of turning to payday loans or credit cards. Money Match will reward the WorkWhile earnings they keep.

While others charge workers to access their pay, WorkWhile will reward them for keeping it.

“Following the introduction of WorkWhile Money and Realtime Pay, 34% of workers on our platform successfully reduced their debt. Money Match allows us to build on that success by directly incentivizing sound financial habits,” stated Benoit Berthoux, Chief Product Officer at WorkWhile. “While other platforms levy fees on workers accessing their pay, we offer financial rewards for keeping it.”

Key Highlights & Program Details

  • 10% Money Match: Workers earn a 10% annual reward on the WorkWhile earnings they keep on their card, up to what they earned on WorkWhile over the last 30 days. Their reward grows every day.
  • No monthly fees: The WorkWhile Money card is a Visa debit card accepted everywhere Visa is, with no monthly fees and free standard transfers to a bank account.
  • Fast access to pay: Earnings from WorkWhile shifts land on the card fast, and workers can spend, withdraw, or transfer their money anytime.
  • Ready in minutes: Workers sign up in the WorkWhile app in about two minutes and get a virtual card as soon as they’re approved, with a physical card available to order.
  • Built for hourly workers: Most money products charge workers to access their own pay. The WorkWhile Money card rewards them for keeping it.

Starting in early 2027, eligible workers can access WorkWhile Money Match and the WorkWhile Money card directly through the WorkWhile mobile application.

Fintech and Banking Expert Support

The WorkWhile Money card is issued by Cross River Bank, Member FDIC, a New Jersey state-chartered institution that operates an API-first, proprietary real-time banking core. The program is also supported by Highnote, a unified platform for embedded finance, as Program Manager.

Work as the Fourth Rail

For more than five decades, hyperconsumerism has driven hourly workers to purchase items beyond their financial capacity. In Q2 2026, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, total credit card debt surged past $1.26 trillion, with a total addition of $21 billion in the same quarter. WorkWhile Money offers an alternative, breaking the debt cycle by utilizing work as a primary financial rail instead of relying on various credit products. A WorkWhile survey released in July 2026 revealed that 68% of workers opt for extra shifts when faced with unexpected costs, choosing this path over 29% APR credit cards or predatory personal loans carrying up to an alarming 750% APR, according to a lawsuit filed by the New York State Attorney General in April 2025. The WorkWhile Money card and Money Match make that choice pay off: earnings land on the card fast, so workers don’t have to borrow to bridge the gap, and the earnings they keep there earn a 10% annual reward instead of costing them.

Demand Surge and Labor Shortage

This announcement from WorkWhile arrives at a crucial moment for the U.S. labor market. The WorkWhile NEED index, a metric tracking labor shortages introduced earlier this month, rose to a high of 115, pointing to an intensifying labor deficit across sectors. Concurrently, demand on the WorkWhile platform experienced a 53% surge over a 90-day period. In this environment, assisting workers with lowering their debt burden and interest expenses has transitioned from a supportive benefit to an essential strategy for securing and retaining top-tier talent.
