Big Blue Marble Academy Unveils Next Evolution of Standards Based Passport to Learning™ Curriculum
PR Newswire
ATLANTA, Oct. 6, 2026
Enhanced by a highly skilled education team, BBMA’s Passport to Learning™ curriculum, which builds essential academic skills alongside empathy, mindfulness, and global awareness, is being introduced throughout the 2026-2027 school year
ATLANTA, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Big Blue Marble Academy (BBMA), a leader in early childhood education, has launched its elevated Passport to Learning™ curriculum for the 2026-2027 school year, which features a stronger link to age-appropriate skill development across eight learning domains, expanded family communication tools, and deeper professional development to enhance delivery in each of its locations across nine states.

The curriculum updates were developed by BBMA’s internal education team with the support of external early age education experts, building on BBMA’s strong curricular foundation to reflect the latest research, theory, and best practices from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and multiple states’ early learning standards.
The elevated curriculum brings the learning journey to life, creating even more skill-based activities for students and touchpoints between teachers and families. Enhanced Weekly Skill Sheets provide families with a clear view of the specific skills their child is building each week and how those skills come to life through intentional classroom experiences. Paired with age-specific learning outcomes and ongoing skill assessments, families can see how daily learning supports developmentally appropriate milestones and their child’s continued growth and progress.
“Children are born with a natural curiosity, and in these early years, every experience helps shape who they will become,” said Erin Pastushok, Senior Director of Education for BBMA. “Every enhancement we’ve made to the Passport to Learning curriculum builds on what our families already value about the BBMA experience: knowing their child’s time with us is purposeful. Through intentional, play-based learning, we’re not only building the academic skills children need for school readiness and success, but also the empathy, responsibility, confidence, and sense of global citizenship that will serve them well beyond the classroom.”
Passport to Learning provides a seamless educational journey, building skills across eight core learning domains, including Social-Emotional Development, Language, Literacy, & Communication, Mathematical Concepts, and Approaches to Play & Learning, to help children become confident, curious, and creative learners. Encouraging each student to discover and make sense of the world, the proprietary, research-backed curriculum helps children to develop global awareness, critical thinking, and foundational academic skills through engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate experiences.
“At BBMA, we know the early years of a child’s life shape more than just school readiness; they establish their identity, curiosity, and emotional resilience,” said Jomar Jenkins, CEO for BBMA. “We’re proud that parents trust BBMA in these foundational years. These curriculum enhancements will help us to create better partnerships between school and home, which will ultimately lead to better outcomes for our young learners. We continue to invest in our curriculum and training, so we can provide richer experiences for our students, our families, and our staff.”
The updated curriculum maintains its focus on global exploration and other beloved elements, including Passport to Language™ and Passport to Community™. Passport to Language introduces children to new words in other languages beyond English in order to strengthen early reading and language skills and build positive attitudes toward other cultures. Passport to Community empowers each child to become a caring, compassionate member of their classroom, school, and the wider world through character education and mindfulness, as well as age-appropriate service-learning experiences known as Heart Projects.
